LIBRARY SERVICES:

Home Issue : 4 books are issued to the Hons. Students & 2 books are issued to general students at a time for 15 days.
Reading Room : Student can consult the reference book in the reading room.
Catalogue Card Index : Author & Title cards are arranged alphabetically in the subjectwise drawers.
Computer Book Search : OPAC ( Online Public Access Catalogue ) facility is available . Users can search the books using OPAC.
Internet Browsing : Users can surf the internet from 10 A.M to 5 P.M.
Reference Services : Users can use the Encyclopaedias , Dictionaries & Other reference books .
New Arrivals Display : List of new books are displayed .
Career Guidance Cell : Books & Journals related to different competitive examinations are available for reference.
Question Delivery : Previous years’ questions of Calcutta University are supplied to the users.
Current Awareness Service : Users are informed about the newly added books & contents of journals.
Selective Dissemination Of Information : Specific need of the users are provided by supplying the related documents.
e- Library : Our library is the member of N-list through which we can access the e- books & e-journals.
Book Grant Facilities: Needy students can apply for book grants for the required books which would be purchased from the library & distributed to the students.
Newspaper Clippings :Important news related to education are displayed in the library.
Adult Literacy Programme :On every Wednesday our students take part in Adult Literacy Programme in the nearby slum area & books are issued to the adults participating in this programme.

South Calcutta Girls’ College, the 1st college in South Calcutta was established in 1932 by the educationist of the locality, the chief of whom was late Peary Mohan Chatterjee . Named after him library of the college is known as “PEARY MOHAN CHATTERJEE LIBRARY.”
